our wedding day: part 2

Wednesday, July 31, 2013

After our ceremony we had a luncheon with all of our family at this cute little restaurant called Sea Salt.  If you ever have a chance to go, then go! It is delicious authentic Italian food and the restaurant itself is beautiful!

Originally I wasn't sure I wanted to do a luncheon but I am so, so happy that we decided to have one. It was the perfect time to gather and celebrate the creation of our new family unit and the importance of what we had just done in a very cozy and intimate setting. Plus we all needed lunch, so that was a bonus. Everyone introduced themselves and shared fun memories about us, we felt so loved!

Our parents each got a chance to say some words, give a toast of sorts if you will, and it was really special to hear them talking about how much they loved us and how happy they were to be welcoming a new member into the family.

My littlest sister Kate had written a song and made a card for us, but she ended up being too shy to sing in front of our large family. We shared the card with everyone and then Conner and I read over the words of her song later when we had a quiet moment. It was very sweet and tender.

Noah and Emma then performed a cover of the song Home by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros for us. Their version is a bit slower than the original and they did such an amazing job. Noah is the most talented guitar player and Emma literally has the voice of an angel. I wish I had half their talent. My dad recorded them performing before Noah left on his mission so whenever they put it up on youtube or I get my hands on that recording I'll post it so you can all enjoy their phenomenal talents.

P.S. I love how big my dress is under this table! Ball gowns for the win.

I believe these two pictures were taken during my dad's speech. He is the only person I know that can make you cry and laugh all at the same time; he's very eloquent and his words are always so touching, even while he manages to be hilarious.

Conner shared some of the most genuine and loving words and just remembering them gives me goosebumps. I always joke that he has no emotion because it's hard for him to share how he's feeling, so having him stand and say the things he did that day was so moving. I am so in love with that man.

our wedding day: part 1

Tuesday, July 30, 2013

If you're looking for an overload of pictures, you came to the right place. We have so many fabulous pictures from our big day that I had a hard time narrowing it down to what you'll see in this post, and the two I have planned to follow it. So here are our pictures from the temple right after our ceremony:

Hip hip hooray for marriage!

We had such tender moments hugging and greeting all our family and friends outside the temple. I love these shots with Conner's dad.

These are my cute grandma's...  we sure missed Conner's maternal grandma and paternal grandparents who weren't able to make the trip to Utah.

Veil fix #1

Veil fix #2
those things are just so silly and fickle, and really serve no purpose, but they sure are pretty

Looking at these pictures makes me miss Noah who is serving a mission in Redlands, California, but he is loving the MTC and we are so glad!

This is all our family and friends who were able to make it to the Temple.

On the left is my family and on the right is his. So glad we are related to such amazing and supportive people! It was so fun that so many of them could travel to be there with us on our big day.

Here are a few of our friends who made it out to the Temple and then stuck around for pictures. Unfortunately we had many friends all across the country who couldn't be there - we definitely missed them but we loved all the great texts we got wishing us luck and happiness from so far away!

Trying to get a good picture with the parents...

Conner was loving all the picture taking, believe me.

Of course my parents and I all start crying when it's time to take pictures together!

Our awesome wedding party was made up of our cute siblings.

Here we copied one of my parent's wedding pictures and I just couldn't decide between the color or the b&w, so you get both.
